The Splatoon 2 Global Testfire may be over, but we’re already thinking ahead to the countless hours we’ll be playing the full version when it launches this summer. While using a Pro Controller could be considered a religious experience because of how well it worked for gameplay, picking up the tablet and inking it out in portable mode felt incredibly right. There’s something about playing a full console game on the go that’s always made me a little giddy. Luckily, if you have a smartphone or mobile hotspot and a decent data plan, you’ll be able to take the Splatoon 2 to any number of rooftop parties you plan to attend this year without breaking the bank.

According to the good folks at Engadget, the average three minute play session of Splatoon 2 only uses around 10MB of data, while 20 minutes of playing uses roughly 46MB. In the brave new world of unlimited data plans you should be able to get some mobile splat sessions in before Old Man Verizon cuts you off.

What do you think? Plan on taking Splatoon 2 on the path less traveled? Let us know in the comments below.
