Splatoon 1 in-game band the Chirpy Chips is set to return in Splatoon 2 version 3.0, indicated by Nintendo’s uploading of two new songs to YouTube and a tweet sent out by the official Japanese Splatoon Twitter account.

The two new tracks by the Chirpy Chips (called “ABXY” in the Japanese version of the game) are titled “Chip Damage” and “Battery Full” and appear to be planned to play during multiplayer matches.

The Chirpy Chips were last featured in Splatoon 1, with several tracks added in a post-launch free update.

Splatoon 2 is no stranger to additional music, either, with songs by new in-game bands “Ink Theory” and “Bottom Feeders” added to the game via update late last year.

The Splatoon 2 version 3.0 update is set to splat its way onto copies of the game in late April.
