Confirmed during Treehouse Live: Not only will the existing Samus and Zero Suit Samus be compatible with the game but two new figures were revealed. A brand new Samus amiibo, featuring a more dynamic pose reminiscent of Metroid II’s original art and blue base, will come along with a Metroid amiibo. This one will have a squishier texture to the amorphous creature, representing another new stride for amiibo, and will be breaking out of its canister as a great callback to the game.

A special edition of the game was also revealed for Samus Returns. With a reversible cover and a 25 track series wide soundtrack called “Samus Archives,” it’s a great grab for fans who’ve been waiting for the bounty hunter’s revival. Look forward to details on availability for all of these and functionality in the near future.
