It’s April 1st in Japan, which means the goofsters and gaffsters are about to have their field day. Japanese companies are known for pulling out all the stops for their gags on April Fools’, and Nintendo is no exception, as it’s just “announced” a new Fire Emblem for the Switch and 3DS, lovingly titled “Fire Emblem Innovation Turmoil – Battle of Revolution.”

Featuring the dazzling graphics of the original Fire Emblem Gaiden, the “game” stars Japanese themed discount versions of a trio of Gaiden characters — Valbar, Kamui, and Leon — and their quest to presumably win a battle of revolution.

The game supposedly releases on April 20th, the same date that Echoes comes out in Japan (as well as the anniversary of the release of both FE1 and Path of Radiance). It, uh, seems unlikely that the game will see a western release… or any release at all, really… but we’ll be there to let you know if that transpires.
