Nintendo of America has updated its product safety page with four brand new amiibo safety certificates which could finally point to the long-awaited Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta amiibo reveals that Nintendo fans have been waiting for.

Now, I know what you’re all thinking: How do we know these are Super Smash Bros. amiibo, and why the heck are there four certificates instead of three? Well, the answer to that question is a bit complicated, but for the brave of heart, you can see how we come to this conclusion below.

Each of the four amiibo have an item number that contains an AA, which would fall in-line with the item numbers in the Super Smash Bros. series. In comparison, all of the Breath of the Wild amiibo begin with an AK, while the Super Mario Bros. series begins with AB. We can also discern that these are not 2-packs or 3-packs as all previous CPSIAs for amiibo packs of two or more contain a 2 or a 3 in the third series of characters. Based on everything that we see in the item numbers leads us to believe that the four amiibo in question are single character Super Smash Bros. amiibo. This then begs the big question:

What is the mystery Smash amiibo? It’s difficult to say, but there’s been speculation for some time that if/when Super Smash Bros. is released for the Nintendo Switch, additional DLC characters could make their way along with it.

What additional character are you hoping for? Let us know in the comments below!
