UPDATE: It looks like fans of the half-genie will have to wait just a little bit longer for this update to hit. Version 1.01 has been pushed back a couple days and will be available to download this Thursday, March 9th, in North America instead.

Old school platforming fans rejoice! Weave-whipping heroine Shantae is upping the ante for players seeking a more challenging experience by including a brand new Hard Core Mode.
Available today via a free update, gluttons for punishment can look forward to the following sadistic features:
- Harder hitting enemies
- Faster enemy patterns
- Faster scrolling speeds
- Remixed enemy locations
- New boss patterns, attacks and stats
- Healing items capped at six
- Re-balanced magic items
- Clearly, a soon to be bruised and battered half-genie who’s only wish is to be free from your abusive relationship.
