Let’s give a big round of applause to The Legend of Zelda!

Appropriately during the year of its 30th anniversary, the iconic NES title has officially been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame, joining Super Mario Bros. to become the second Nintendo game to receive the honor.

It’s about time the game gets recognized for what it is! Influential in a number of ways, The Legend of Zelda spawned one of Nintendo’s longest-running and most popular franchises to date, and with what may be the biggest entry in the series on the horizon it only makes sense that we’re seeing the induction of the game that started it all. You can check out the full induction page on the official website.
