Put FAST Racing NEO on ice and tune up your trusty Blue Falcons: futuristic racer F-Zero X is falcon punching North American Wii U Virtual Consoles tomorrow!

Originally released on the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, F-Zero X is sometimes seen as the black sheep of the family due to its rather generic look and lack of technical flair. However, that’s not to say it didn’t vastly improve upon its 16-bit predecessor. What it lacks in graphical fidelity is more than made up fantastic track design, blistering fast gameplay and a steady framerate at 60fps allowing up to 30 racers to be on screen simultaneously. Couple that with an excellent soundtrack of remixed tunes and nearly ten fold increase in playable characters and courses and you have one of the best racers to ever grace the galaxy.

F-Zero X will be available tomorrow, January 12th, for $9.99.
