According to gaming journalist Liam Robertson, the toys-to-life juggernaut that is Skylanders may have just been put on hold indefinitely. With lower than expected sales figures from the Imaginators line, underwhelming performance of the new Netflix series Skylanders Academy, and a plethora of young people turning to mobile games as an alternative to consoles, the series is now rumored to have had its main series title for 2017 shut down. It’s important to note that Activision has yet to make any formal announcement regarding this particular bit of Skylanders news or any of the information involving this rumor, so as always, take this information with a grain of salt. However, with the fall of Disney Infinity earlier this year, it wouldn’t surprise us if this rumor holds some sense of truth.
